These photos are from five days of shooting at three different locations in Florida in April 2011. I was in Florida to get my solo diver certification at Pompano Beach. I spent two afternoons at the nearby Wakodahatchee Wetlands Preserve in Delray Beach, photographing nesting birds in spectacular displays. I then drove across Florida on Alligator Alley and spent a couple of days shooting at the famous Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island. Highlights there included nesting ospreys, comical reddish egrets and lovely roseate spoonbills. Then I crossed back to the other side of the state for a couple of hours at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. I hope you enjoy the results as much as I enjoyed traveling and making the photos.
