Welcome to Fins, Feathers, Photos, the Web page of South Carolina-based nature photographer George Cathcart.

The newest addition is the Baby Birds gallery, focusing on the sometimes manic antics of newborn wading birds in Florida rookeries. Great egrets, wood storks, tri-colored herons and roseate spoonbills have the starring roles, with cameos by little blue herons, snowy egrets and anhingas.

And be sure to check out my blog post about how photographs can make the everyday extraordinary.
